Everglades City is widely regarded as one of the premier fishing destinations in the world. Situated at the confluence of the Everglades, Ten Thousand Islands, and the Gulf of Mexico, our location offers unparalleled access to both inshore and offshore fishing.
River Wilderness provides a boat dock where you can tie up your vessel, a fish cleaning station, and free access to the Everglades Bait & Tackle boat ramp (just show your cabin key).




Tie up your boat at our on-site dock on Lake Placid. Dock space is available for guests during their stay.
A dedicated fish cleaning station is on-site for preparing your catch. Keep your cabin clean and your fish fresh.

Florida Fishing License Required: All anglers 16 years of age and older must have a valid Florida fishing license to fish in Florida's waters. Licenses are available online at myfwc.com or at local bait shops.
Everglades National Park: Special regulations apply within Everglades National Park boundaries. A separate park fishing permit may be required. Check with the National Park Service for current rules.
Bag & Size Limits: Florida has specific bag limits and minimum size requirements for most species. Always check the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for current regulations before fishing.
Catch & Release: We encourage responsible fishing and catch-and-release practices, especially for snook and tarpon during closed seasons.
